There are several factors that determine the usefulness of a card — some cards are simply more valuable than others.
There are four major factors that influence the utility of an individual card: power level, ubiquity, support cards, and the standard rotation. Pound for pound, some cards simply outmuscle the competition.
Whether they have game-breaking effects, low mana costs, or both, there are plenty of examples of cards that are much stronger than the rest. When you craft a card with a high power level, you know that it will often overperform. Some cards are strong inclusions in almost any deck that can cast them.
Though not as flashy as the bombs in the previous section, these staples are more than reliable enough to get the job done. Every deck aiming to play more than one color and even several that are mono-colored with a light splash will need several dual lands in order to function. Though there are budget alternatives for these — the cycle of common dual lands in M19 comes to mind — good dual lands are indispensable, and will always be the safest type of card to craft.
Not every card is easy to build a deck around on a budget. Many cards require that you include several other rares alongside them in order to operate properly, which makes them poor choices for crafting early on. Cards that have three or more colors will often require expensive mana bases with at least three or four playsets of dual lands, making them off-putting to newer players. Equally powerful and demanding, crafting cards like these is not recommended until you already have a sizable collection.
Knowing how much time a card has left in standard is important, especially for players who plan on slowly building up their collection. Cards in Kaldesh, Aether Revolt, Amonkhet, and Hour of Devastation have little time left in the sunlight before the rotation this October.
Even cards that survive the rotation will be heavily affected by it — Goblin Chainwhirler is a powerful card, but most of the overpowered red four-drops that accompany it will be leaving us soon, and no one knows if Guilds of Ravnica will supply enough to fill the gap.
Prioritizing cards that have a guaranteed lifespan will reward you down the line, especially for less invested players. With these four factors in mind, here is a tier list of every card I would recommend crafting to players looking to start their collection.
Do note that the twelve Kaladesh block rares and mythics featured here will not be included in this analysis, as explaining why you should craft a card that everyone received four of for free is rather redundant.
Cards in this tier are indispensable, ubiquitous, and survive the rotation, making them ideal candidates for crafting. You will use these ten cards many, many times during their lifespan. Many of the strongest threats in standard have haste and are resistant to destroy effects, making spells such as these indispensable for decks looking to prolong the game.
Search for Azcanta — In the early stages of the game it smooths out your draws and stocks up your graveyard, and in the late game simply activating this card every end step will bury most opponents.
Every blue deck with enough spells to support the back half of this card will want at least two copies somewhere in the Teferi, Hero of Dominaria — Teferi is the hero of blue-white decks everywhere, as he is one of the most powerful planeswalkers printed in a long time.
His plus pulls you ahead in both cards and mana, his minus answers almost anything, and his ultimate flat out wins you the game if it lasts more than a few turns. Cards in this tier are powerful metagame staples that show up in many of the top lists in Standard.
These are still high value crafts despite their shorter lifespan. These super-powerful cards all do something valuable the turn they come in to play, whether it be dealing damage to the opponent, their creatures, or both. If you enjoy playing Mountains, you should look into crafting these cards. The Scarab God — The Scarab God both necessitates a removal spell immediately and punishes ones that merely send it to the graveyard, making it an extremely powerful finisher.
Karn, Scion of Urza — Karn is a card advantage engine that can show up in any deck.
Theros Beyond Death Limited Tier List
The Mirari Conjecture duplica le magie e Fight with Fire potenziato infligge da solo 10 danni.
Abrade e Fosake saranno carte estremamente utili. No, grazie Si, attiva. Skip to content Facebook. If you want to view all the best meta decks and their ranking in one snapshot, we have a summary table below and explain in further detail the reasoning of their rankings below as well.
Before we start, please read the following important key points on the BO1 mode:. The card style rewards for the March ranked season are Escape Velocity and Thryx, the Sudden Storm for reaching Gold and Platinum rank, respectively. Check out the March Season page for more details! Looking for more Standard deck archetypes and decks? Check out our deck database! Initial excitement focused around Phoenix of Ashand while this is a strong card, Anax, Hardened in the Forge has been the real hero of this deck.
Mono Red is statistically the best deck in Bo1 and makes up by far the biggest chunk of the meta. It is the deck against which all others are measured in Bo1, and has had pretty good success in the non-Bo1 tournament scene as well with a win at Magicfest Lyon.
Mono White Devotion has staked a claim to relevancy in Bo1. It is a flexible deck based around the lifegain and Devotion synergy introduced to Standard with Theros Beyond Death. The deck is quite interesting because it can be aggressive, like the traditional white weenie, or even a more midrange build suitable for longer games and resilient to disruption. Either way, the deck is primed for BO1 currently because it can fend off the opposing aggressive decks quite well due to the lifegain offered by many of its cards.
Sacrifice strategies received some new cards in Theros Beyond Death that are definitely worth experimenting, and could get stronger over time. The absence of Azorius Control has been good for business. Temur Adventures is probably the second most common deck in the Bo1 meta, though Mono White Devotion may overtake it at some levels. The results at DreamHack Anaheim and overall ladder performance by Aaron Gertler, have been impressive and lend to its legend.
Still, this is a complicated deck to play, if only because there is a lot of risk of timing out for an inexperienced player. The deck creates enormous card advantage via Lucky Clover and Edgewall Innkeeperwhich cannot be matched by other decks in the format. The weakness of the deck lies in its speed, but Fae of WishesBrazen Borrower and Bonecrusher Giant ensures it can at least have a chance against aggro decks. If Clover drops on turn 2, this deck can take out any aggro deck on the list on their best days.
There are two main builds of Gruul in the current Standard environment, Aggro or Adventures. The event launches on Oct. CT and runs to Oct. Registration is free and players will have access to every card in Standard up to four copies to construct a deck of their choice. The tournament matches are in the best-of-one format and players are allowed two losses before being booted from the tournament.
Each account has one chance to go all the way to 12 wins and take home the grand prize. While Bo3 Magic has a normal random shuffler, the Bo1 queues use a shuffler that tries to fix your starting hand by opening 3 opening hands and choosing the one that has the closest ratio to the lands-spell balance in your deck.
One of the biggest problems I had with aggressive decks in Eldraine Standard has been the manabase. Without Dragonskull Summit, I found it very hard to have a strong curve with these two colors. That left me trying some mono-colored decks. I found Mono-Red and Mono-Black to be the most competitive ones, although they both have flaws: black has good 1-drops but very weak 2-drops, and Red has the opposite problem. If you want to play midrange and try to beat the aggressive decks, then this is the deck for you.
Simic Ramp as designed by Brad Nelson has an incredibly good matchup against creature decks thanks to 4 copies of both Wicked Wolf and Voracious Hydra.
Unfortunately, Field of the Dead has gotten more and more popular, pushing this deck away from the throne as it is just unable to deal with that many Zombie tokens. I expect fewer Field of the Dead decks in the best-of-1 queues, so for this weekend this could be the best deck. Speak of the devil, I had to talk about the big elephant in the room here. Bant Golos Field is right now the king of Standard Best-of-3, and every player and every streamer including me are doing all they can to find a deck that can beat it.
You can easily cast it for 2 mana against the decks that try to beat you down and you can grind the mirror and the midrange decks by having access to a card sideboard toolbox. I wish you the best of luck for this amazing event, and I hope that Magic Arena will have more opportunities to give players some free reward with events like this in the future! Skip to content.

When you craft a powerful card, you know that it will always perform well when you include it in your decks. Some cards see play in a wide variety of decks, and in addition to that some cards are often seen at higher quantities. Shock lands deserve a special mention in this section, as they almost always show up as a four-of in their respective decks. Having enough dual lands will open up countless deckbuilding possibilities.

Keep in mind that this list is subjective — the evaluation of individual cards should vary greatly depending on your collection and play style. These are the best cards in standard, hands-down. The fact that many other powerful creatures you already would want to include in your deck are also Knights is a sweet little cherry on top. Phoenix is good against fast and slow decks alike, and not many cards interact with it in a positive way.

Here are the top 10 best MTG: Arena decks and their game plans. Its best player was Percsalot with a record on day 1. Mono-Red Aggro appears on this list since it was both popular and successful in Twitch Rivals. Mono-Red Aggro wants to vomit out its hand of creatures as soon as possible and then swing for face before its opponent can really do anything.
This version of Mono-Red however also packs plenty of card advantage so its hand vomit is more of a steady stream of creatures instead of just a one-off explosion. Its best player was Will Hall who made it into the top 8.Diagram based reliant electronic ign wiring diagram
Cards like Ayara and Midnight Reaper will keep giving you advantages while you sacrifice the cat. You thought we were free from Simic colored decks? The idea behind this deck is to ramp into massive spells like Hydroid Krasis, Agent of Treachery, or Mass Manipulation.
If all else fails, you can switch to a midrange plan through Nissa and Cavalier of Thorns. A Rakdos Knights deck got a record and was played by fernanditouh. Rakdos Knights uses a Knights Tribal theme to establish an early board.
After that, it can put down Rotting Regisaur and attach Embercleave to it to deal 16 trample damage, usually ending the game. This deck wants to control the board until it has enough mana to play Agent of Treachery or Mass Manipulation. Jeskai Fires was one of the most popular decks in Twitch Rivals, making up Sam Rolfo represented the deck in the Top 8.
The deck has a pretty straight forward game plan - control the board, then play Fires of Invention. Once Fire sticks, play Drawn from Dreams for free. Its best record was by Sandoiche who would also make it all the way to the finals. This deck wants to keep playing creatures while Edgewall Innkeeper is on the field. This way, the deck can keep your hand stocked on options and more creatures to keep playing.
Thanks for reading! Remember, this is all currently based on early results from Standard Leagues and Twitch Rivals since it was a large enough tournament to get a decent sample size. The meta is still very much in flux and people are testing out new decks all the time. FrostBite 1 month 3 weeks ago. Do you have any other recommendations for the Izzett Phoenix decks that don't use the Brazen Borrower?
Is it critical to the deck? I was thinking of putting Ox Of Agonas because he can be brought out pretty quickly and he can replenish your hand.
